Polanie byli silnym słowiańskim plemieniem, w którego skład wchodziło wiele kmiecych rodów. W czasie wojennym kmiecie zbierali się na wiec. Na tym zebraniu wybierali wodzów, którzy potem planowali kampanie i prowadzili wojów do bitwy. Czasem Wiec oddawał pełnię władzy najbardziej utalentowanemu i utytułowanemu wojownikowi. Po odbytej kampanii wódz tracił tracił władzę i rody powracały na swoje ziemie.Polans was strong Slav tribe with many clans included. In time of war the clansmen met together at the Gathering. At this meeting they had been choosing the commanders who planned a campaign and led a warriors to a battle. Sometimes the Gathering gave the full power to the most talented and honoured warrior. After a campaign the chieftain had been loosing his power and the clans returned to their lands.
